Environmental Protection
Our mission at Lone Oak Organics is to ease the strain on our environment and consumers’ wallets by producing food locally and sustainably. Each year, companies around the world waste money and resources on shipping produce from warmer climates to colder climates, where most consumers live. In addition to the money spent on these large supply chains, energy and resources are wasted by the transfer of these products. Lone Oak Organics eliminates the need to import these products.
Sustainable Agriculture
Our farm also practices sustainable growing methods. Our greenhouses utilize the newest hydroponic technology, while still using organic materials. Conventional methods of farming can hurt the environment. Conventional tillage practices are ruining our soils, while pesticides and herbicides are polluting our fresh water resources. Each year, tons of topsoil are washed off of the surface and down streams. This erodes the natural surface and causes biologically diverse lands to become arid, desert-like grounds. Our hydroponic systems do not damage the natural terrain.
Hydroponic Growing Methods
Our hydroponic systems do not use harmful pesticides or herbicides. Because we are growing indoors and in a controlled environment, chemicals are not needed. Additionally, all of the organic fertilizers used in our systems are recaptured and used again. No runoff or pollution is produced from our growing methods.
Local Distribution
Providing our customers with local produce not only protects our environment, but also ensures that our products are fresh and of the highest quality. Many organic products lack quality due to prolonged shipping methods, premature harvesting and too much handling. At Lone Oak our high-quality, organic herbs are available year-round, from local greenhouses.
