Year-Round, Organic Herbs

Lone Oak Organics is a year-round, local supplier of certified organic culinary herbs. We serve the St. Louis region with a variety of high quality herbs throughout all four seasons, and we are locally owned and operated. We are the proud suppliers for many St. Louis area grocery stores and fine dining restaurants. Utilizing greenhouse growing techniques including hydroponics, we are able to provide eco-friendly and fresh herbs throughout the entire year.

At Lone Oak Organics, we practice sustainable growing methods. Conventional methods of farming are hurting the environment, but our greenhouses utilize the newest hydroponic technology, while still using organic materials, to grow produce in an eco-friendly way. Unlike other farmers in warmer climates, who ship their products to northern cities during the winter month causing excessive water and air pollution, we exclusively distribute locally. This helps minimize our company’s supply chain carbon footprint.

Lone Oak Organics provides
St. Louis with the freshest organic herbs, year-round.

Lone Oak Organics also specializes in distributing our unique Lone Oak Hydroponic Farming SystemsTM. We offer a variety of products and services relating to vertical hydroponic growing systems. Our growing systems enable home gardeners and commercial growers to cultivate fresh, local and organic produce in their own sunroom, garden or greenhouse. Our unique growing system has many advantages including a vertical growing module which increases spacial efficiency, automated drip fertilizing to facilitate watering and feeding, and the system has been certified by the USDA for organic production.

From our controlled hydroponic growing environment to our local distribution, Lone Oak Organics uses environmentally sustainable practices for a healthier, tastier and more natural tomorrow.

    Basic Tips on Basil

Basil is most commonly recommended to be used fresh; in cooked recipes it is generally added at the last moment, as cooking quickly destroys the flavour.

The fresh herb can be kept for a short time in plastic bags in the refrigerator, or for a longer period in the freezer, after being blanched quickly in boiling water.
